The importance of system maintenance
Learn the importance of system maintenance and what happens if a hvac system is neglated.
System maintenance is very important whether that be for a small residential system or a 50-ton commercial package unit. If filters are not changed regularly it can lead to a dirty evaporator coil which can cause the coil to freeze up and could lead to your system being damaged. Another important factor in the how the HVAC system works is that your evaporator coil sweats since it is cold and hot air passing through it in order for it to cool your house. This condensation goes down the coil and into the internal drain pan which then goes into your condensation line. If the filter is not changed regularly more debris and dirt will run down the coil and into the drain which will clog the drain and could make it overfill and spill into the attic leading to water damage, mold, etc. As far as the outdoor condenser is involved if the coils get clogged on the outdoor unit air will not properly go through the unit which will make your compressor overheat and could completely destroy your compressor. All of these things can cause hundreds to thousands of dollars in damages. However these problems are avoidable with proper maintenance. Regular filter replacement and condenser cleaning can save you a lot of headache in the future as well as getting maintenance with a company of your choice twice a year. Once before the summer and once before the winter.
