Allergy solutions and damage preventions
In this post we will offer you diffrent options for preventing water damage in your ceiling, preventing damage to your unit, and allergy counters.

Additions to your HVAC system
There are a variety of products that you can add to an HVAC system depending on needs. One of the main products which is required by city code but is not installed in many units is a safety float switch.
Safety float switches go either on your primary drain line (SS1), secondary drain line (SS2), or your drain pan (SS3). What this does is shut off your unit if any of these are tripped. It is connected to your main 24V connection to your unit and once it gets set off from water filling up on any of your HVAC drains, it cuts off that signal. Why is this important you ask? This prevents your drain from overfilling due to a clog and spilling all onto your ceiling and causing water damage, creating mold, or mildew.
Surge protectors are devices that go mainly on to your outdoor disconnect for your condenser. What this does is prevents your system from being damaged from an overcurrent or spike in energy. Instead of your thousand dollar equipment being damaged this little item would get destroyed saving you thousands of dollars in repairs and a headache. There are larger ones which can also be added to your main electrical panel on your household. These are nice if you have any electronics which you want to protect in your household.
UV lights are a product which many customers ask for. UV lights are installed on your indoor system either on the evaporator coil, supply or return plenum. What this product does is eliminate odors, germs, smells, mold, etc. This product is beneficial for those customers which want an extra layer of filtration in their house, want to reduce allergies, have pets, or simply want to kill odors, viruses, or anything else in the air.
Like your HVAC units there are many brands for float switches, surge protectors, and uv lights. We will provide you with those that fit your budget or those of your liking. Whenever you are ready to improve your home give us a call and we will be happy to help.
